As the nation prepares for the Memorial Day weekend, Dearborn Public Schools high school students, faculty,

and special guests will honor the memory of those who gave their lives serving in the U.S. military.

All media members are invited to attend all or any one of the ceremonies taking place at the three comprehensive high schools.

LOCATION: Fordson High School, 13800 Ford Road, Dearborn MI 48126 (Auditorium)

DATE: Wednesday, May 23, 2018

TIME: 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.

DETAILS: Fordson High School will hold a remembrance ceremony to honor those who gave their lives

in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

LOCATION: Dearborn High School, 19501 Outer Dr., Dearborn MI 48124 (Auditorium)

DATE: Wednesday May 23, 2018

TIME: 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

DETAILS: Ceremony will honor Dearborn High School graduates who lost their lives in the service of

our nation and will specifically highlight the life of James Huard for whom a monument has

been dedicated on the DHS campus.

LOCATION: Edsel Ford High School, 20601 Rotunda, Dearborn MI 48124 (Auditorium)

DATE: Thursday, May 24th, 2018

TIME: 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.

DETAILS: Ceremony featuring Vietnam Veterans of America James Huard Chapter 267 Color Guard

      • Recognition of the 23 Edsel Ford students who lost their lives while serving in the U.S. military during Vietnam.

      • Students performing vocal and instrumental music.

      • Remarks from:

        • Superintendent Glenn Maleyko, Ph.D.

        • Dearborn Mayor John B., O’Reilly, Jr.

        • Edsel Ford High School Principal Scott Casebolt

      • A solemn rose ceremony led by Edsel Ford students and alumna Lisa Lark, former Edsel Ford teacher and author of two books about the Vietnam War. For more than 20 years, Edsel Ford High School annually has held a ceremony to honor those students who lost their lives during Vietnam.
